DEFINITION
- Instrument that determines the mixing ratio by thermolysis of the analyte on a heated catalyst followed by detection of the dissociated compounds by the optical extinction of laser light of a specific wavelength in a high-finesse optical cavity consisting of two highly reflective mirrors. The optical extinction is caused by scattering or absorption by the analyte.
