photolysis frequency
DEFINITION
- The photolysis frequency (denoted J) is the equivalent of a rate constant for the photodissociation process: A + hν -> products. It is expressed in s^(-1). It is expressed as the integral over a wavelength interval of the wavelength-dependent product of the actinic flux F(λ), the quantum yield Φ(λ), and the absorption cross section σ(λ).
