DEFINITION
- Device for analysing the chemical composition of a soluble sample by passing its solution through a column of extended length, where the column can be heated or the composition of the solvent can be changed with a defined program. The time for a component to pass through the column depends on the chemical nature of the component. Subsequently, the separated components are identified and quantified by analysing them by means of mass spectrometry.
