DEFINITION
- Device for analysing the chemical composition of a soluble sample by passing its solution through a column of extended length, where the column can be heated or the composition of the solvent can be changed with a defined program. The time for a component to pass through the column depends on the chemical nature of the component, which can thereby be identified and quantified by logging the amount of sample exiting the column.
