DEFINITION

  • Mass flux is defined as the amount of mass transported per unit time across a unit area that is perpendicular to the direction of mass transport. Deposition is the sum of dry deposition (uptake at the earth's surface) and wet deposition (absorption into droplets followed by droplet precipitation, e.g., rain, snow, sleet) or impaction on the earth's surface (e.g., fog droplets). SCCPs are chlorinated alkanes (C10–C13) and belong to the group of halogenated organics and persitent organic pollutants (POPs).
