DEFINITION
- Instrument designed for measuring the number concentration of particles in an aerosol sample that may act as condensation nuclei for liquid cloud droplets by exposing the particles to an atmosphere with a defined water vapour supersaturation similar to those occuring in clouds. May be used for measuring the cloud condensation nuclei number size distribution in combination with a mobility particle size spectrometer.
