PREFERRED TERM
aerosol particle light backscatter Ångström exponent
DEFINITION
- The aerosol particle backscatter Ångström exponent is the Angstrom exponent obtained for the aerosol backscattering instead of aerosol optical thickness and is alpha in the relating aerosol backscatter at the wavelength lambda as a function of aerosol backscattering at a different wavelength lambda0: back(lambda) = back(lambda0) * [lambda/lambda0] ** (-1 * alpha).
