PREFERRED TERM
aerosol particle light extinction Ångström exponent
DEFINITION
- The aerosol particle extinction Ångström exponent is the Angstrom exponent obtained for the aerosol extinction instead that for the aerosol optical thickness and is alpha in the relating aerosol extinction at the wavelength lambda as a function of aerosol extinction at a different wavelength lambda0: ext(lambda) = ext(lambda0) * [lambda/lambda0] ** (-1 * alpha).
